Abstract. The new titanium alloy Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al is shown to have adequate fracture toughness and stress corrosion resistance at the 180 ksi tensile strength level. This alloy has higher strength and fatigue resistance than other commercially available titanium alloys, and a considerable strength-to-weight advantage over comparable-strength steels.
